Leviathan Repaint Part 8

Well painting is finally underway! Thus far Ive just undercoated the wartower, stuck on the basecoat of yellow and given it a layer of orange ink to bring out the scales.

Painting In Progress!

After the ink has dried I plan on giving it another was of red ink in some of the recesses to bring some shading into it. After that its time for the black armoured plates!

Hopefully I will be able to get a couple of updates to this post during the course of today!

All the best!

Mid Day Update!

Heres the latest pic of my painting process with the black scales having been blocked in and the shading added to the yellow areas:

Black Stuff!

I hope to have the yellow areas highlighted by the end of this evening and then start work on the scales and spikes...

  1. Coming along really well. Very interesting colour scheme, reminiscent of a wasp.

  2. Hmm... Youve got me thinking of adding stripes now! He might end up looking like an angry spiky bumble bee...

I think i need to add some more black to his head so that only the underside of his throat shows yellow while the rest has the black scales.

I may have to do a bit of experimenting to see how he turns out!

  4. Hey yeah, and what about insect wings and antennae! Actually on second thoughts maybe not. Perhaps a more appropriate comparison would be with a bulldozer or some other construction vehicle...seems more in line with Gorath's charter. The Black head sounds like it would be very effective, especially when you paint in those malevolent little eyes.

  5. Well the orc horde does need some air support but they are called dark wings and arent quite so bulky!

Ive added some more black to the head and it has made quite a difference as you can see from the pics and I have just about managed to get his beady little eyes on camera!
