Crucible Concepts

I was perusing the web for some information on Crucible and found the following images by Clint Langley who produced much of the concept work for the game.

I must admit I love the original take on the forces he developed. Its really rather dark and even the usual good guys, the Elves look gritty and brutal.

Crucible Scarecrow

Principate Troops

Principate Navy

Tauren Bloodfiend

Orc Warrior

Dwarven Grandfather

Orcs Versus Elves

Orc Versus Elf

Legion Trooper

I think I may have to have a go at sculpting up some bits and bobs as a homage! It will also allow me to have a bash at playing some games of Crucible too which is a real plus!

All the best!

  1. I have recently purchased the core rulebook and the principate and orc expansion. I really enjoyed the fluff in the core book and the orc book. I thought the principate fluff starts out great, then get a little lazy then gets better with the elementalists.

The biggest problem I have with the great art, is that is does not match the miniatures.

Its a shame the army books were never finished, I would love to read a Tauren book. Something about Beastmen geneticists really perked my interest. After reading their fluff in the core rulebook I watched then read the Island of Dr Moreau. Quite fitting really.

  2. Hi!

In my opinion crucible had more going for it than vor and is a really brilliant game with a really good setting.

It's a real shame it didnt get chance to take off!

    All the best!

  3. Certainly agree there, Vor has quite the lazy setting.
