Real Budget Gaming!

Hi!

Well I have found that once again I have no gaming budget this month so can't afford to buy a planned for regiment for a 15mm scale Warhammer 3rd Edition project. After some cursing I had a rummage through my bits box and have come across some PETER PIG ancient Germans I had totally forgotten about that I had originally bought over a year ago for a Children of the Moon warband.

Barbarians!

I have enough of the little fellows to build two small regiments of 12 men each and have been sat basing them this evening between finishing sorting out our workshop at long last!

Hopefully I will be able to crack on with getting a decent warband painted over the next week or so which should get me started out in the project. I think they will be forming the basis for one of the barbarian war parties that have been venturing into the interior of Crucibles northern shores.

I am planning on multi basing some of the unit so they will be mounted on 30x30mm bases with enough mounted on individual 15x15mm bases to represent casualties!

All the best!

I must admit its been fun to start a full army project instead of just skirmish size games.

    All the best!

  3. Hey

I'm following your blog for quite a while now and gotta say I like how you use what you find and bring new spirit to old games.

    Cheers,

    Nico

  4. Hi!

Thanks for the comments and hope you continue enjoying the blog!

I think it all dates back to when I stopped collecting GW stuff in the mid 90s and looked for a different game system or whatever miniatures I saw that I liked. The habit has stuck with me ever since!

    All the best!

  5. Cool stuff!
I agree that planning out a larger army is a nice change of pace from small warbands. Both have their strengths and appeal.
Also nice that you are free to draft whatever minis you have around the house into action. For my Chaos forces I've been dredging up some stuff that hasn't seen daylight in... over a decade. Much more fun than worrying about what's 'official'.
