Warmachine Colossals

Hi!

I spotted that Privateer Press are planning on releasing some absolutely massive warmachines called Colossals:

Khador Colossal!

I must admit they got me thinking that they got me thinking that Warmachine has some really interesting models and that I could even be tempted to have a bash at collecting a force. This mad thought lasted until I saw just how expensive the models all are! Even the regular infantry are really rather pricey!

With the size of the beasts they could even do with going for 15mm scale!

All the best!

  1. Yeah I posted up some the You-tube videos of the Colossal and there up and coming RPG. I really like the game, but yes, as you said it is rather on the pricey side. And i would imagine they are even more so on your side of the pond. luckily you don't need many mins to play a game, but once you start to get past 30-35 point games, you are starting to get a pretty go hit in the bank. But the way I look at it, is if i wasn't spending money on Mins, i would be spending it on booze, women, and guns. So all in all, its not a bad trade lol

  2. Hi!

I did actually have one of the Khador box sets from when it was first released and I liked the fact you could play it as it was but it seems to have gone from skirmish almost to 40k in scale now which is a real shame!

Can you still play in such a small force?

    All the best!

  3. My son was interested in getting into WarMachine until he began looking at what one warcaster would cost him. When my wife saw she said, "the Games Workshop stuff you buy isn't this high, is it?"

  4. Yes LB you can still play small games with just a caster, and a few jacks a side, that would be a 15-25 point game, Its when you start to get into the 30 and above that if changes from a duel to a skirmish and after 50pts its a pitched battle, and 100+ is when you get into the GW size games with a nasty amount of mins on the table and cash spent. I actually sold off allot of my GW stuff so that i could get back into WM lol.

  5. But honestly I really don't think the PP stuff is any more expensive then GW stuff is any more. Or Infinity for that matter.

  6. Hi!

    Thanks for the comments folks!

I must admit that I do like the style of the miniatures but at present just dont have the budget to even think about buying into the system!

I've actually spent the last couple of weeks tidying up the place and trying to work out which project I should work on. As already mentioned my budget for wargaming is currently next to nothing so I want to try out some frugal gaming which I will post about presently but I am thinking its time to have a total clearout of all the projects Ive started and then done nothing with!

    All the best!
